The Grave Marking will take place in the Old Colony Burying Ground cemetery at 300 South Main Street. The Hocking Valley Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution will be conducting this formal ceremony. Special granite markers with the SAR Logo will be inscribed on the markers. There will be a wreath-laying presentation by members of the SAR, DAR, the American Legion, the Ohio Semiquincentennial Commission, the United States House of Representatives, the U.S. Navy, local historical societies, and many other civic organizations. There will be a SAR Color Guard with historical flags as well as SAR chapter flags and a 3 volley musket salute. We will be honoring 5 of the 24 Revolutionary War veterans buried in the cemetery.
